According to several claims from the gaming industry, the Grand Theft Auto series might be getting its next installment soon. GTA 6 is under development, and reports are Take Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games, will officially announce the new game during its investors call on May 17.
Hip Hop Gamer recently tweeted an incoherent string of sentences, accompanied by a photo with the Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick. He also said, “Grand Theft Auto 6 will be a forever moment to remember,” and we can only assume he will be a part of the game, or at least has spicy info to get gamers going.
Tez2, another insider that often leaks info on Rockstar Games, revealed that the yearly Summer Update for GTA Online might include teasers about the eventual GTA 6, also stylized as GTA VI. Speculations are going wild for several years, as the gaming community is still waiting for a new game, ten years after the arrival of GTA V and its immersive atmosphere and glorious sunsets over Los Santos.
I've been browsing Twitter and I found that some GTA VI news accounts and a gaming website published an article about GTA VI leaks from an insider named Matheusvictorbr (@matheusbr9895_ on twitter).
According to Matheus Victor, the protagonists in GTA 6 will be a brother-sister duo who will be separated after the game's prologue, which takes place in 2003.
This introduction will showcase how the cartel got their parents killed in Brazil. The game will supposedly be set in the modern day, with the story most likely taking place in 2023 or 2024.
After the initial prologue, the two siblings will ultimately cross paths as adults, albeit on opposing sides. The brother allegedly becomes an agent for the DOA, which is a parody of the real-world government institution, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
In the meantime, his sister would infiltrate the cartel's ranks to exact revenge on them in her own unique way. She will reportedly work her way up through the same cartel that killed their parents to become one of their hitwomen.
Matheus Victor was unable to confirm whether or not it would be possible to play as both of these characters.
GTA 6 to feature MANHUNT City

Universal's The Super Mario Bros. Movie celebrated two full weeks of release by passing a major milestone at the worldwide box office. On Wednesday, the animated video game adaptation passed the $700 million mark globally, further cementing its position as the biggest film of the year so far. If it continues performing like this, this film is all but guaranteed to pass the coveted $1 billion mark at the global box office.
Super Mario has grossed $366 million domestically, and another $358 million from overseas territories, for a worldwide haul of $724 million. The film opened on a Wednesday and went on to deliver a record-breaking $204 million five-day extended opening. In one fell swoop, it broke the records for the biggest opening of 2023, the biggest opening for a video game movie, and the biggest worldwide opening for an animated film.
Super Mario grossed $375 million worldwide by its first Sunday, overtaking Frozen 2’s $358 million global opening record. Domestically, it overtook Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s $106 million opening weekend gross as it finished with $146 million over the traditional Friday-Sunday weekend. It also surpassed Sonic the Hedgehog 2’s $72 million three-day opening to deliver the top debut for a video game adaptation and has since overtaken Warcraft to become the highest-grossing video game movie ever at the global box office.
Featuring the voices of Chris Pratt and Charlie Day as the plumber brothers Mario and Luigi, Super Mario isn’t the first adaptation of the popular video game franchise. A doomed 1993 live-action film titled Super Mario Bros., starring Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, and Dennis Hopper as the villain, tanked with less than $30 million at the domestic box office, and is often counted among the worst movies ever made. Although, to be fair, it has certainly accumulated a cult of admirers over the years.
